Guarantee

We put out pieces meant to be still on the door, still on the basin, still correct in twenty years. If one of ours fails because of how it was made, we put it right.

What the guarantee is

Brassware, sanitaryware and architectural hardware carry a termless guarantee against defects in materials and manufacture — no fixed end date, for as long as the piece is in its original installation. The Scala towel radiators are electrical products and carry a two-year guarantee from delivery. Nothing here affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015; this guarantee sits alongside them and never replaces them.

What is covered

Any defect in the materials or the manufacture of a piece supplied by Cast London — the body, the cartridge, the valve, the mechanism, the finish as applied — that appears in normal domestic use.

Where a piece fails under this guarantee we will, at our choice, repair it, replace it with the same or an equivalent piece, or refund the price paid, and we cover the delivery of the replacement to you. The guarantee applies to the original purchaser, for the piece in its original installation, on presentation of the order number.

What is not covered

Wear. Brushed and living finishes develop with use — that patina is a characteristic of the material, not a defect. Scratching, and the ordinary wear of seals, cartridges and washers consistent with age and water quality, are not covered.

Damage. Abrasive, acidic, chlorine or ammonia cleaners; impact; frost; limescale from untreated hard water; and any alteration to the piece.

Installation. Fitting that departs from our fitting sheet or from good practice, or electrical work not carried out by a qualified electrician to the current wiring regulations. The costs of removal, refitting and any consequential damage are not covered.

How to claim

Write to hello@castlondon.co.uk with your order number, a description of the fault and photographs. We reply within one working day and agree the remedy with you before anything is shipped. We may ask for the piece to be returned for inspection. Where the fault is confirmed as a defect covered by this guarantee, we reimburse your return carriage in full.

Who gives this guarantee

This guarantee is given by GACG Limited, trading as Cast London, registered in England and Wales, company number 17282589, registered office 39 Hendon Lane, London N3 1RY. It is a guarantee given by the company itself: it is not insurance-backed and no third party underwrites it. Like any retailer’s own guarantee, it is honoured by GACG Limited for as long as GACG Limited trades — which is why we set out, below, the protection that does not depend on us.

The protection that does not depend on us

Whatever happens to any company, two things stay with you. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — goods must be of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose, with remedies available for up to six years in England and Wales (five in Scotland) — sit with you regardless of this guarantee. And if you pay by credit card, Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 makes your card issuer jointly liable with the retailer for purchases between £100 and £30,000, so a valid claim can be made against the card issuer directly. We say this because we would rather you knew it than took our word alone.
